A former Major League Baseball pitcher has tragically died in a car accident
at 35 years old.

Hector Gomez reported on Sunday that former MLB pitcher Roberto Gomez, 35,
was killed in a car accident. Roberto Gomez played for the San Francisco
Giants from 2017-18. He recorded one win and 17 strikeouts over two seasons
with the NL West franchise.

"Former San Francisco Giants pitcher Roberto Gomez, 35, died due to a trafficaccident in Santiago, DR," Hector Gomez reported on Sunday afternoon.

Roberto Gomez was initially a part of the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He
made his professional debut in 2010 and was with the American League East
franchise until his release in 2014.

The right-handed pitcher signed a minor league contract with the San
Francisco Giants in 2016.
