After the Warriors overcame a woeful shooting effort to win Game 5, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst called it a “checkbook win.” And there are fans, pundits and T
witter trolls out there who are chiding Golden State for buying their latest chip.
Brian Windhorst日前提到關於勇士的支票勝利說，還有一些球迷認為勇士是花大錢買冠軍的說法。
“Oh, come on,” Lacob told The Athletic after his team’s title-clinching win
. “That’s a joke; I think it’s ridiculous. All of our players are guys that
we drafted or minimum signings except for one [Wiggins] trade. One trade andno free agent beyond the minimum. How can you say we bought the title? It’s crazy.”
奪冠後，勇士老闆Joe Lacob回應了這種說法：
拜託，這真是個荒謬的笑話，除了圍巾以外，我們的其他球員都是通過選秀選來或是低薪簽下的，而且圍巾還是我們通過交易換來的，為什麼有人會覺得我們花大錢買到了這座冠軍，這種言論太瘋狂了。
“We wouldn’t spend that kind of money on the roster if we didn’t think we h
ad a chance to win. When you do think you have a chance to go far and competefor a championship, our belief is we are going to do everything we can, use every last dollar,” Lacob said.
Every. Last. Dollar.
如果我們覺得沒有機會爭冠的話，我們就不會在球員陣容上花這麼多錢，當有機會走得更遠甚至爭冠時，我們的信念肯定會竭盡所能，用盡每一分錢，把錢都花在刀口上。
“A lot of teams can’t do that or won’t do that, I guess. We have great reve
nue. Our business side is so good. We generate revenue at a great rate, so we’re able to spend a little more. There’s no doubt about that. But we wouldn
’t do it if we didn’t think we had a chance to win.”
我猜很多球隊不能也不會這樣做，因為我們在業務方面做得很棒，我們能高效產出價值並因此獲得很多收入，所以我們可以多花一些錢。毫無疑問，如果我們覺得自己沒機會爭冠的話，我們就不會這樣做。
