If there are changes to the delivery schedule, or if approvals are being reconsidered, could you please clarify the reasons and indicate what steps will be taken to ensure transparency with Taiwan and with the public?

A frank and timely answer would serve several important goals:

1. Reassure Taiwan and allied partners that defense cooperation is reliable andpredictable.
2. Reduce the risk of miscalculation or escalation by making intentions and timelines clear.
3. Preserve the long-standing practice of U.S. support for Taiwan’s legitimateself-defense under existing U.S. law and policy frameworks.

If there are specific legal, logistical, or diplomatic constraints affecting deliveries, I respectfully urge you to publicly outline those constraints and, where possible, propose practical measures to mitigate delays — for example, prioritizing munitions and critical systems that most immediately strengthen defensive resilience.

The security of the Indo-Pacific is of global concern, and transparent, consistent policy toward Taiwan’s defense purchases is a stabilizing force. I respectfully ask for a clear statement from your office about the status of the equipment Taiwan has purchased: will the United States deliver these systems as contracted, and if not, what are the alternative arrangements you intend to pursue?
