The Boston Red Sox are in rough shape, and chief baseball officer Chaim Bloomknows the challenge ahead.

波士頓紅襪隊目前的狀況並不好，而現任球隊總管Chaim Bloom也知道挑戰就在
前方。

"This isn't what any of us want," Bloom told The Boston Globe on Sunday.
"There's a lot of work to do."

Bloom接受當地媒體"環球報"時表示︰「這不是我們任何(紅襪隊的人)想要的(狀況
)，所以未來還有很多工作要做。」

The Red Sox (6-16) have lost seven straight and have the worst record in the
American League. They have started 11 different pitchers in just 22 games
this season. That roster instability was evident early on.

紅襪隊打了超過20場比賽後，不但只拿到6勝、正在經歷七連敗的低潮，甚至還是
美國離盟戰績最差的球隊。事實上，球員陣容的不穩定很明顯是紅襪今年開季的
隱憂，而至今22場比賽動用到11位不同的投手也證明了這一點。

Boston lost ace Chris Sale to injury and presumed Opening Day starter EduardoRodriguez to COVID-19 complications and dealt David Price to the Los Angeles
Dodgers as part of a deal that also sent out MVP outfielder Mookie Betts.

這裡也順便補充今年無法為紅襪效力的幾位球員(與原因)︰
1.王牌投手Chris Sale–左手肘受傷開刀
2.投手Eduardo Rodriguez–罹患新冠肺炎(即武漢肺炎)後心臟有後遺症
3.投手David Price與野手Mookie Betts–被交易到道奇

"Obviously the results have not been what we wanted," Bloom said. "We knew
that we were down a couple of pitchers and that this was going to be an area
of our team that was a work in progress, and certainly we've gotten really
poor results so far."

Bloom在訪問中還講了一段話︰「很明顯的，今年這個結果並不是我們想要的。
我們有預期到開季時損失了投手是個問題，也知道這會是重建期的一部分，
但很明顯的，我們現階段的成績還是很慘！」

With their season in a tailspin, Bloom acknowledged the Red Sox are likely tobe sellers at this year's trade deadline.

隨著紅襪球季已經陷入混亂，Bloom也知道球隊很有可能是今年交易大限的賣家。

"From Day 1 here, I felt like long-term sustainability needed to be a really
important priority here," said Bloom, who is in his first year with the
organization. "How we started, you have to weigh that in. We want to compete,but we have to prioritize our big-picture goals."

今年才加入紅襪管理階層的Bloom接著又說︰「從我來到這的第一天，就感覺(為
球隊)建立長期的持續性，會是我在這裡最重要的工作；所以你們(指記者或球迷
)必須要從『我們如何開始』的角度，來衡量球隊的發展。我們是很想要有競爭
力，但也要以大方向做為優先。」

心得︰雖然是不意外紅襪隊大起大落的特性，不過會慘到戰績連金鶯都輸..
這應該也是少有球迷能想到的吧

紅襪今年的不振，多少也降低了這個賽季的可看度..
