早期的房子，有些還存留著蹲式馬桶，而現在則以坐式馬桶最為普遍也更為舒適，在我們購買馬桶時除了外觀，還有些注意的事情需留意才不會買錯？
選擇馬桶時最重要的是知道家裡馬桶糞管中心到牆壁的距離，普遍是30cm或40cm，可以從樓上糞管或馬桶外觀初步判斷，但只能掌握70%正確度，當然也有特殊距離尺寸像是18cm或22cm，而若糞管在壁面上，馬桶就需要買懸吊式。馬桶種類外型主要有分離式、單體式，在工廠窯燒時技術不同因此外型也會不一樣，近期的馬桶沖水是以單體虹吸式沖水為主流，透過虹吸原理將污穢清除不僅可以減少聲音並且更加乾淨。
另外如果家中馬桶的水箱和牆壁有些許距離，是因為台灣地震時容易出現搖晃，因此水箱跟牆壁留有約2cm的距離可以減少破損機會。最好購買馬桶前可以先請水電師傅協助才不會有後續問題產生。
