“Originally referred to as a light tank, Army officials named the new
concept the Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF); this approach was intended to
dissuade service members from viewing it as a tank-like vehicle and then
employing it the same way as the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank (MBT),” Army Lt.
Col. Ben Ferguson and Capt. Lennard Salcedo wrote.
While the MPF certainly looks a lot like a tank, it is not meant to have all
the same missions as an M1 Abrams battle tank. Armored formations can be usedas battering rams to smash through enemy lines. Most importantly, main battletanks can destroy enemy armor.
MPF is designed to provide direct fire to engage with/destroy the types of
pediments typically faced by infantry, such as bunkers. As Army Leaders
stated this week, the name given to MPF best describes what it is: it is a
mobile platform that provides protected firepower to the infantry.

中共解放軍約有6300輛戰車 但其中40%(約2500輛)是20-40年老車
(相比台灣卻將近有1000輛戰車 我國戰車還真的很多

波灣戰爭結束後收了一堆M-60A3
冷戰結束大甩賣的時候買的，另外悍馬也多半是那個
時候買進的
比較像步兵戰車的概念
好奇問一下，m60型號比較新，cm11號稱是m1同款射控
，那麼兩台車在國軍部隊的評價是哪一款比較好？
就算沒M60大甩賣，台灣之前”戰車”數量也是上千輛
殺肉零件多的那台（誤）
不過當時組成是M48、M41跟M24，數量最多的是輕戰車
台灣悍馬是真的多,只是不知道現在還有多少能動
不過這句避免官兵把這台車當成M1用，反映美軍太久沒
用輕戰車了
波灣結束大拍賣+飛彈危機緊急戰備買進才那麼多吧 m6
0多一部分是41車後繼無人 不然這部分的戰車缺是給
其他輕戰補的
台灣的CM11是80年代末期製造的，只是那個M60A3底盤
不知道是新造的還是整新品？
如果CM-11底盤是新造的，未來要升級M60用CM-11換頭
應該比較理想？
M60TTS的砲塔比較大有升級空間 CM11砲塔太小
是的，我的意思就是只留CM-11底盤，砲塔用M60或其
他新造的選項
國軍20多年前用跳樓拍賣主戰去換輕戰
沒跟隨西方輕甲IFV/突擊砲趨勢
但本質上大部分主戰等於在”代用”砲車
因為當年M8輕戰/IFV（M2/M3）都太貴了
就犧牲機動與後勤 用廉價舊主戰代用
代下去就沒完沒了 因為後來預算更少了
機步旅的快反與火力特性 只剩火力 但慢
中東很多T55/T62沿用也是一樣道理
現代能扛105的甲車 普遍幾百萬美元起跳
結果MPF比M-8還貴 XD
10幾年前悍馬大部分都能動啊
野戰部隊悍馬不能動的話是要怎麼下基地
這幾年國軍不是又採購新的了
考慮通膨的話MPF應該沒比當年M8貴
因為貨幣購買力有縮水
台灣悍馬妥善率還可以 輪車不難養
當然跟新車車況不能比 但能見度很高
新的車型還在研發 有原型車
預期是2024評測完就量產
悍馬下基地不是都用殺肉車提供料件 不夠的看連長怎
麼靠人脈去跟別連借嗎？ 在基地還要派人到車場站哨
避免零件被其他進訓部隊幹走
我也記得悍馬妥善也不好
明白 "類戰車"
既然當突擊砲用，為啥還要裝砲塔？
那是補保平時不肯下放料件消耗
並不是車本身不行了
誰說突擊炮就不能有炮塔？
這個 應該就被被當TD 用吧？ 不過當年輕坦中坦重坦
分類太雜才會發展萬精油的MBT 感覺現在又走回去了
？

突擊砲有砲塔很合理啊
只有二戰德國才傾向無砲塔TD
因為TD要裝比同級戰車更大更長的砲
現在反甲手段太多 只需要支援步兵的突擊砲車
彈藥要多 口徑不用大於主戰
MPF本來甚至考慮50 但後勤麻煩
就回歸保守低風險的105方案
不用太拘泥於舊時期的分類 以前分一堆通常都只是某
種權宜 現代很多情況可以一車多用途 就像80年代多
用途戰機開始一統江湖一樣
