KBO-CPBL PLAYER CONTRACT AGREEMENT
1) When a CPBL professional baseball club (hereinafter referred to
as a “CPBL club”) wishes to contact and engage a KBO professional
baseball player (hereinafter referred to as an “KBO player”) the
CPBL Club shall first determine the status and availability of the
KBO player by communicating with the KBO Commissioner
through the CPBL Commissioner. The KBO Commissioner shall
notify the CPBL Commissioner of the player’s status and
availability.
2) If the KBO player is not under contract to, reserved by, or on
any inactive list or on any drafted list of a KBO baseball club
(hereinafter referred to as “KBO club”), the KBO Commissioner
shall so notify the CPBL Commissioner and the CPBL club may
then contact and engage the KBO player.
3) If the KBO player is under contract to, reserved by, or on any
inactive list or on any drafted list of a KBO club, the KBO
Commissioner shall so notify the CPBL Commissioner and the CPBL
club shall not contact or engage the KBO player unless approval
to do so is given by such KBO club and the KBO Commissioner.
4) If a KBO club wishes to contact and engage a CPBL professional
baseball player, (hereinafter referred to as a “CPBL player”) the
KBO club shall first determine the status and availability of the
CPBL player by communicating with the CPBL Commissioner
through the KBO Commissioner. The CPBL Commissioner shall
notify the KBO Commissioner of the player’s status and availability.
5) If the CPBL player is not under contract to, reserved by or on
any inactive list or on any drafted list of a CPBL club, the CPBL
Commissioner shall so notify the KBO Commissioner and the KBO
club may then contact and engage the CPBL player.
6) If the CPBL player is under contract to, reserved by or on any
inactive list or on any drafted list of a CPBL club, the CPBL
Commissioner shall so notify the KBO Commissioner and the KBO
club shall not contact or engage the CPBL player unless approval
to do so is given by such CPBL club and CPBL Commissioner.
7) In the event a player who once under contract to a KBO club
but who has most recently been under contract to a CPBL club
desires to return KBO, his status and availability shall be
determined as if he were a CPBL player.
8) In the event a player who was once under contract to a CPBL
club but who has most recently been under contract to a KBO club
desires to return to the CPBL his status and availability shall be
determined as if he were a KBO player.
9) The KBO and CPBL Commissioners shall be advised immediately
of any negotiations or transactions between clubs and players of
KBO and CPBL.

Japan-Taiwan Player Contract Agreement
1. If a Taiwan Professional Baseball Club(hereinafter referred to as a ”Taiwan Club”)wishes to contact and engage a baseball player, professional or amateur, who is currently playing or has played baseball in Japan and/or is under contract with a Club that is a member of the Central League or Pacific League of Japanese Professional Baseball Clubs(hereinafter referred to as a ”Japanese Player”)the Taiwan Clubs shall first request that the Office of the Commissioner of the Taiwan Professional
Baseball(hereinafter referred to as a” Taiwan Commissioner”) determine the staus and availability of the Japanese Players as hereinafter provided by communicating with the Office of the Commissioner of the Japanese Professional Baseball (hereinafter referred to as a ”Japanese Commissioner”). The Japanese Commissioner shall respond to a request from the Taiwan Commissioner within four(4) business days.
2. If the Japanese Player is on the Reserve, Military, Voluntarily Retired, Restricted, Disqualified, Suspended or Ineligible List of any Club that is a member of the Central League or Pacific League ot the Japanese Professional Baseball Clubs(hereinafter referred to as a ”Japanese Club”), as such Lists are described in the Japanese Professional Baseball Rules, the Taiwan Club shall not contact or engage the Japanese Player unless approval to do so has been given by such Japanese Club through the
Japanese Commissioner.
3. If the Japanese Player is not one concerning whom approval must be obtained under paragraph 2, the Japanese Commissioner shall so notify the Taiwan Commissioner and the Taiwan Club may then contact and engage
the Japanese Player. If approval is required under paragraph 2, the Japanese Commissioner shall transmit to the Taiwan Commissioner the approval or disapproval of the Japanese Club.
4. If a Japanese Club wishes to contact and engage a baseball player, professional or amateur, who is currently playing or who has played baseball in Taiwan and/or is under contract with a Taiwan Club
(hereinafter referred to as a ”Taiwan Player”), the Japanese Club
shall request that the Japanese Commissioner determine the status and availability of the Taiwan Player in the same manner that the status and availability of a Japanese Player is determined hereunder. The Taiwan Commissioner shall respond to the request from the Japanese Commissioner within four(4) business days.
5. If the Taiwan Player is on the Reserve, Military, Voluntarily Retired, Restricted, Disqualified, Suspended or Ineligible List on any Taiwan Club, as such Lists are described in the Taiwan Professional Baseball Rules, the Japanese Club shall not contact or engage the Taiwan Player unless approval to do so has been given by the Taiwan Club throught the Taiwan Commissioner.
6. If the Taiwan Player is not one concerning whom approval must be obtained under paragraph 5,the Taiwan Commissioner shall so notify the Japanese Commissioner and the Japanese Club may then
contact and engage the Taiwan Player. If approval is required under paragraph 5, the Taiwan Commissioner shall transmit to the Japanese Commissioner the approval or disapproval of the Taiwan Club.
7. With respect to the scouting by professional baseball club of amateur player and professional baseball club’s contracting with an amateur player, Japanese Clubs and Taiwan Clubs confirm that Japanese Clubs
are aware of the rules and regulations in Japan.
8. This Agreement shall have a term of two (2) years commencing on November 1, 2004 and ending on October 31, 2006 (“Initial Termination Date”). One hundred and eighty (180) days prior to the Initial Termination Date, either the Japanese Commissioner or the Taiwan Commissioner shall have the right to give notice of his intention to modify or terminate this Agreement and promptly after the issuance of such notice, the parties shall commence discussions concerning the extension or amendment of this
Agreement. If neither the Japanese Commissioner nor the Taiwan Commissioner give notice of his intention to modify or terminate this Agreement 180 days prior to the Initial Termination Date, this Agreement shall continue from year-to-year until either the Japanese Commissioner or the Taiwan Commissioner gives notice of his intention
to modify or terminate this Agreement 180 days prior to any anniversary
of the Initial Termination Date.
