獨立遊戲線上市場 itch.io 以推廣獨立遊戲生態系聞名，向獨立開發者提供開放平台，可以免費上架或出售內容，包括最近紅遍 VTuber 社群的同人遊戲《Holocure》。

然而有人居然創立山寨版的獨立市場「w3itch.io」，不但承認自家網站設計、CSS 都是公然抄襲 itch.co，連網站上許多遊戲都是在未經創作者授權情況下推出的。

比加密貨幣價格崩跌的時間還早，itch.io 今年 2 月在 Twitter 貼文中公開強烈反對
NFT（非同質化代幣），更聲稱這是一場剝削創作者的金融騙局。如今有一個極其相似的獨立遊戲市場橫空出世，網頁架構與介面看起來與 itch.io 並無不同，這個網站叫作「w3itch.io」，他們自稱「向獨立遊戲創作者開放的自由市場」，但與 itch 不一樣的地方在於，w3itch 支持區塊鏈技術，更將納入「NFT、加密貨幣付款和其他 Web 3 技術。」

2021 年加密貨幣市況空前繁榮，區塊鏈遊戲與 NFT 市場也隨之崛起，但 Steam 禁止與NFT 或加密貨幣相關的區塊鏈遊戲，使得鏈遊開發者自然想要找到一個替代方案，但如今，意圖明顯的 w3itch.io 似乎不太可能成為候選人。

「你們竊取 itch.io 的使用者介面，還公然拿掉原本的名字，並透過一個不相干的計畫使用 itch 品牌來欺騙人們，並為自己牟利。」在這個山寨網站被 itch 創辦人 Leaf
Corcoran 於今（30）日點名後， w3itch 承認自己使用 itch.io 的 CSS 架構，但截至發稿時它們還不打算關閉網站。

Leaf Corcoran 還進一步在 Github 上譴責這個山寨網站問題不只是抄襲 itch 的品牌，他們還未經遊戲創作者的同意，搬運許多獨立遊戲到自家平台上，Corcoran 要求對方刪除被盜的內容，對獨立創作者負責。

隨後 w3itch.io 也在 Twitter 毫不避諱自己的搬運手段，「我們不會關閉整個網站，我們只有大約 80 ~ 100 個遊戲……而所有遊戲都是使用者隨機選擇的，其中很多真的很難
接觸到原作者。」

仔細瀏覽 w3itch.io 網站，可以感受與 itch.co 驚人地相似，還能發現該平台特別支援簡體中文，開發者介紹頁面也有不少未完善的地方，特別是空無內容的「Blog」分頁，公告只提到「與社群討論有趣的想法」，負責更新的開發人員名為「小刀」（音譯，
xiaodao，最後更新於 6/27），山寨風格不證自明。

發稿前 w3itch 炎上仍在持續中，它們還鍥而不捨展開投票：「如果我們砍掉重練，您是否願意使用類似 itch 但具有不同設計和加密內容的網站呢？」展現出對於區塊鏈遊戲的執著，究竟網站是否會改頭換面，讓我們繼續看下去。
